Hmmm. I love the early hours, but prefer it once the sun's coming up and I can feel it's warmth. But the true wee small hours, not so much! Love you brother!
Ummm...I'm one of those San Franciscans, born and raised, who loves to roam China Town in the early hours while merchants are setting up their food stalls, making my way down to the Embarcadero for Tai chi in the park, coffee on the wharf. But I do understand another's aversion to wee morning hours.
Hey Karen. Do you still live in San Francisco? I, too, like to roam the city but prefer it when there's more light, even very early. But the true wee hours, not so much.
Actually, now living in the wine country, but I haunt the city often & have a room of one's own at my cousin's house on Mt. Davidson. Do I understand you are newish to S.F., Rich?
Hmmm. We're in Sonoma the next few days attening the Sonoma Film Festival. And, yes, we're new to living in the city, up on Potrero Hill. But we've been in the Bay Area for nearly 40 years. We moved here from Boston.
Sleeping on the first floor for the first time in years gives me a whole new perspective of these things too! Are those pics from your new home? Great views!
Ah, yes, sleeping in a new place always leads to strange new times to be awake! And, yes, both photos were taken from different rooms in our apartment, at different times within those wee hours.
*of!
I always think that I won’t get back to sleep but, next thing I know, the bedroom’s full o light.
I actually like those wee small hours. 😁
