What a lovely sense of time and place in this poem. And sublime descriptions with such clever observations and vignettes.

"If I were to guess,

I’d guess she’s wondering

what the hell I’m doing,

and marveling

at what I find

so marvelous about

something she sees

as so natural and normal."

Thank you so much David. I greatly appreciate you really sinking into it and parsing those words. It validates my obsession with 'the thrill of the ordinary'.....thank you Rickie Lee Jones!

Yep sometimes it just requires stopping, looking for a while and it reveals itself.
