Hey Mike. Well, the insulator, or at least one like it, I likely can find. But the original and the bookcase were distributed among me and my siblings last Fall when my mom passed. It was her bookcase, filled with her modest treasures.
Ahh - I thought that it was your bookcase. Love the poem. Its good to have different things that remind you of a parent after they have gone.
I was just intrigued as to where the insulator would have come from. And what it would look like. I wouldn't dare touch anything on an electrical pole, even if I was fairly sure that it wasn't connected up.
I would love to see the insulator - In fact I would like to see the bookcase!

I'm hoping this link stays live through the wires so you can see what this 'Hemingway Insulator' looks like. I have no idea where they got that name. They could be found pretty easily way out in the country in the Mid-West (Ohio for me as a kid) on old abandoned utility poles. They started out clear glass. But after decades out in the sun, they turned plue or light green. They become collectibles. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1559244200/hemingray-insulators?gpla=1&gao=1&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_us_a-art_and_collectibles-collectibles-collectible_glass-other&utm_custom1=_k_Cj0KCQjwqP2pBhDMARIsAJQ0Czow726j7OXHeWVRd7mZR51LnKoenn1_v4iGAggdBRl_CfB8fPEopYgaAm7sEALw_wcB_k_&utm_content=go_1844702580_70388661595_346397622160_pla-339568974434_c__1559244200_12768591&utm_custom2=1844702580&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqP2pBhDMARIsAJQ0Czow726j7OXHeWVRd7mZR51LnKoenn1_v4iGAggdBRl_CfB8fPEopYgaAm7sEALw_wcB

I love this one. So many memories rolled in there and on those shelves.
