Touch the Sky
Get lost in a swirling cloud
I want to float and move like a hot air balloon. Rise far above the trees and valleys, so high it snaps the attachments, unplugs the commitments and lets me truly let it all go. Unthethered, unencumbered, loose to move wherever the morning air and warming wind take me.
I want to look down, take in whatever most appeals to me, or maybe I'll first look up, feel the sky against my skin, get lost in a swirling cloud, touch a star, if I can. I don't know if a hot air balloon can go that high, so maybe I'll have to take that ride in my mind's eye. And that's just fine!

Beautifully freeing- a reminder to let go of what weighs us down.
Ah, the mind's eye. What an adventure that would be. I, however, have aphantasia -- multi-sensory aphantasia, in fact. My mind's eye is a but a dark screen; the credits have run; the movie's over. Doesn't prevent me from appreciating your fine poetry though, Rich. Thank you.
