Breaking vs Breaking Open
There's a difference between breaking and breaking open. Drop a porcelain plate and it breaks into so many sharp and splintered pieces that scatter in every direction. Drop a watermelon or a canteloupe, at least a few feet off the ground, and it breaks wide open, exposing its sweetness.
Raw eggs, too, break wide open more than merely breaking when dropped on the floor, their white spreading out thinly, their yolk, likely, breaking open, too! Hearts break all the time and sometimes break fully open, revealing deep feelings and vulnerabilities and exposing them to unexpected experiences and, hopefully, with patience and time, stimulating growth, hope, and resilience. That's the hope when things break wide open!

Rich, you have a real gift for putting deep feeling into simple, memorable images. This is beautiful.
Here’s hoping things break your way.
