Where you going to go, Margot, you so new, so pure, so undiluted by this world. That’s the question that comes to mind when you sink into your bright, clear eyes staring unblinkingly back with equal wonder and surprise. Flailing little arms and legs, simultaneously, pushing the world away and pulling it in as close as you can for that’s all you know. Little hands delighting in every newly discovered surface, tight skinny lips marveling, savoring, sometimes wincing at every new taste.
Precious and desperate fingers grasping at anything and everything seeking and finding warmth and comfort in a grown thumb, a lower lip, an earlobe, a dangling glittery earring, your own toes. Where you going to go, Margot? You so new, with skin so thin and soft, yet to thicken and brace for what lies ahead. You loudly let us know you’re here, daily proclaiming your rightful place. There’ll be a day when you say, hey, here’s who I am! And, before you know it, there’ll be another day, distant as it may be, when you’ll raise your hand, wave and say ‘I’m heading this way!’
Yes...such a beautiful piece that expresses the wonder we see, about the wonderment they are undertaking as a new human being. May her journey be filled with much love and Joy. Thanks for sharing...Rich.
God's message that it's ok for the world to keep turning. Welcome, little Margo. When the world seems to be falling apart at the seams, Margo keeps me believing. Thanks Rich.
